So...
[Branching out of her comfort zone is a hard thing.]
I'm looking to do some work. Building or making whatever people need. Not sure if I'll be able to do everything, but try me. And if I can't, might be able to find someone who can chip in where I slack off.
I'm pretty good with my hands.
[Even if no one wants or needs anything done, she's taken a liking to the boats in the boathouse. Perhaps she'll fix up one of the old boats down there. Given recent events, a hobby would do her well.]
That's about it. Lemme know.

If you've got something broken, I can take a shot at fixing it.

It's a bit empty in forge. Could always use another pair of hands.
no subject
Just say the word and I'm there. Have you got anything to work on now?
no subject
Um, well I've been playing around with those furry talking things we got out of the bags. I uh, don't actually have anymore steel to forge anything with.
no subject
[Abeni breathes a sigh, already mulling over where they might get steel from.]
Have you tried asking staff if there's more? Anything we can melt down to use?
[Not that she has any idea what they can even build.]

[He's still blaming himself for that Halloween incident no matter what Joe told him.]
But that's gone now. The only other things I could find to melt were things in the armory, but we might need what's in there.
[Neither does he. Most of the time he just starts making things and goes with the flow.]

[There's got to be something else. She just can't think what.]
Ever tried woodwork?
[It's another thing she learned from Luis, years ago. Even if it was just simple work around the house, it mattered.]

[There's not much that Zachariah isn't willing to try.]

I was thinking about fixing up one of the boats. Some of the panels are a bit worn. The rods could stand for improvement too.
[Woodwork and fishing. Probably the most normal things she's ever done in her life.]
no subject
[Zachariah is all too happy to fix something, and learn something new. It'll be just like the old days...only they aren't killing people which makes it much better.]
no subject
[This feels strange. Nice, but still strange. Abeni can only hope that if she keeps up the effort, that oddness will go away.]
I'm headed to the boat house now.

Hey.

Need a hand?
no subject
[Self-inflicted or no, the hole in the wall of his bedroom still needs repair.]
no subject
[Hell if she's not going to be reading up on everything she can to improve.]
Got something for me?
no subject
[She actually doesn't mind working it out. It gives her something to do. Abeni taps the heel of her boot on the boat she's sitting on.]
This is the first one I want to clean up.
[Even if it doesn't need proper repairs, sanding it down a bit and getting some of the grime off can't hurt.]
no subject
So where do we start?
[He steps closer to get a better look at the boat.]
no subject
The carpentry house is a mess at the moment, so I guess cleaning that up is on the to-do list as well.
no subject
[This plus cleaning the carpentry house and messing with his Furby should keep him busy for a while and more than make up for his lack of steel to work with.
Zachariah begins looking the boat over, running his hand along it while he does.]
no subject
A hole in my quarters that's needing restoration. It's of... moderate size.
[Nevermind the other flaws: naimly, sword and talon slashes, that tainted that particular wall. Albel contently decided to leave that bit out.]

I'm Abeni by the way.

[She stands up and steps back, giving Zachariah better room to look it over. Her hands continue to work on the knot in the line.]
no subject
[But like she said, cleaning it and sanding it will be a good place to start. He'll let her handle the sanding, at least at first so he knows how to do it right. For now he'll just clean the boat.]

[A few bombs. Whoever was there before her sure was messy.]
I grabbed a few things though. Metal brush, pick, a few rags. What I couldn't find was sandpaper, but there's bound to be something like it around.

[He smirks. His workshop was barely any better.]
We can always improvise if there isn't.
[Something that the two of them are very good at by now.]
